Our Lifetime Guarantee

While most furniture stores sell limited warranties, every piece of VWS wood furniture is backed by a free lifetime guarantee. If your furniture fails at any point during the life of the original owner because of workmanship or a wood defect, we'll repair or replace it at our discretion.

Filing a Claim

If you think your furniture failure qualifies, contact us for a return authorization number to start the process. You'll need to provide the original bill of sale.

Caring for Your Furniture

Your guarantee depends on caring for your furniture properly. Follow our care instructions and the rules below.

Moving and Handling

• Always lift furniture — never slide it across the floor
• Disassemble beds before moving and reassemble them properly afterward

Chairs

Chairs are guaranteed for 5 years (unless discontinued) and designed to support 250 pounds. Routine use above that weight voids the guarantee.

Furniture with Electronics

Electronics generate heat that can dry out and damage wood over time. See individual product pages for limitations.

The Natural Character of Wood

We encourage our artisans to bring out the inherent beauty of solid wood — the mineral streaks, grain contrasts, and other organic markings other makers strip away with chemicals. These aren't flaws; they're indications of authenticity, like the nubs in fine silk or linen. Read more about the natural characteristics of wood, and if you're buying cherry, expect natural mineral deposits.

What's Not Covered

Our lifetime guarantee covers craftsmanship and materials. It doesn't cover:

• Custom, live-edge, discontinued, or modified pieces
• Floor models and clearance items purchased as is
• Commercial-use furniture — covered instead by our standard one-year commercial warranty (same conditions as below)
• Furniture shipped outside the contiguous U.S. — service logistics make overseas claims impractical
• Furniture picked up at our location that requires professional in-home assembly, when assembled by the customer
• Damage from misuse, abuse, neglect, unauthorized repairs, alterations, improper moving, extreme humidity or temperature changes, sunlight-driven color change, accident, normal wear and tear, or acts of God

VWS is not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

Shipping for Claims

You're responsible for return shipping up front. If our inspection confirms a defect in workmanship or materials, we'll reimburse all shipping and handling costs and either repair or replace the piece at our discretion. Either way, we'll work with you until you're satisfied.

Brand-Specific Warranties

POLYWOOD Outdoor Furniture

POLYWOOD comes with a 20-year manufacturer warranty. VWS adds a lifetime guarantee for residential use on top of that — the only POLYWOOD retailer offering this level of buyer protection.

• Commercial use: standard POLYWOOD one-year warranty from date of purchase
• Repair or replace: if recycled-plastic materials or workmanship fail in residential use, we'll repair or replace at our discretion
• Shipping & handling: customer pays return shipping; please contact us with the original bill of sale
• Hardware: 5 years residential, 1 year commercial — covers breakage, not the aluminum frames. See hardware specs and care
• Cushions and upholstery: 30 days from purchase against workmanship or material defects (excludes normal wear, COM fabric, abuse, improper assembly)
• Sling fabric: 3 years residential / 1 year commercial against loss of dimensional stability and abnormal fading. Pollution and debris damage not covered
• Color fading: all POLYWOOD HDPE colors fade somewhat in sunlight — store covered or use a UV protectant to minimize

POLYWOOD's general care guide: outdoor furniture care and maintenance. Damage from misuse, neglect, alteration, unauthorized repairs, excessive heat, acts of God, or normal wear isn't covered.

Upholstered Furniture

Sofas, chairs, loveseats, upholstered headboard panels, bench seats, and similar pieces are warranted for one year against defective material or workmanship. Customer-supplied (COM) coverings are excluded.

Hubbardton Forge Lighting

All Hubbardton Forge lighting comes with a limited lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship for the original owner, subject to certain conditions.
