How much does shipping cost?
See our shipping page for details.
How long will my order take?
The lead time can vary by the product and where it is shipping to. Each product will have a "ships In" time listed on the product page. This indicates how long it takes to craft your item or prepare it for shipping. It does not include "transit time", which is the time it will take for our shipping partners to deliver your order after they have received it from us.
Transit times depend on your delivery address and will be specified during check out and on your order confirmation.
Our lead times are best estimates at the time your order is placed, but are subject to change.
Although we are unable to provide compensation for extended lead times, we will make every effort to inform you of any changes while your order is in process.
How can I find out about deals or discounts?
Sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of this page. You can also see our current sales, coupons and discounted furniture on our Fine Furniture Deals & Discounts page.
Do you have a print catalog?
Yes we do! Though our catalog does not contain all of the inventory you see online, it does have beautiful, high-resolution images of our wood furniture that not only highlight its beauty but also provide decorating and design ideas. Visit our catalog page to request a copy.
Do you offer custom pieces and sizes?
Many of our workshops can customize your made to order furniture. We are happy to modify our designs to meet your needs. Copeland Furniture offers a variety of different options on their furniture, but limit the amount of custom work they do. Please contact our sales team for more information.
What types of construction are used on your furniture?
Furniture construction varies from piece to piece, craftsman to craftsman. Our construction details are listed on our product pages. Contact us if you any questions on the construction of your furniture.
Do you use any veneers or plywood in your furniture?
Veneers may be used in certain parts of construction where it is the best choice for that piece. For example, framed panels, that is panels surrounded on all four sides, may be made of high grade, veneered plywood. In these instances, solid wood can expand and possibly damage a piece, particularly during periods of high humidity. Using a veneer prevents this from happening, since it does not expand and contract like solid wood does. This method is often used for Case Backs and Drawer Bottoms as well. Other reasons to use veneers in certain areas include weight considerations, construction stability and aesthetics. If you have questions about a specific piece, please contact our sales team for more information.
What finish do you use on your furniture?
Each of our craftsmen uses different finishes and finishing methods on their furniture. Visit our finishes pages to see what type of finish each craftsman uses or open the “construction details” section on any product page to see the finish used on the furniture you are interested in.
I have a chemical sensitivity. Does your furniture contain any harmful fumes or volatile organic compounds (VOCs)?
We make our furniture with natural, toxic-free, kiln-dried hardwood. Our craftsmen use water-based glues that are low in chemicals and are sealed into the wood. We use low VOC finishes and once the finish is dried, the VOCs are mostly gone.
If you have a preference for finish, let us know and we can see if our craftsmen can accommodate.
If you are still unsure about how our finishes will interact with your chemical sensitivity, please order a sample and see how you react to it prior to placing a furniture order.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover. We also accept ShopPay, PayPal credit, Apple Pay, GooglePay and checks. Cash payments can be made for in-store purchases.
When will my credit card be charged?
Your card is charged at the time of sale. As our pieces are made to order, our workshops cannot begin the process of purchasing materials until payment is received. We appreciate your understanding in this respect.
Can I buy now and pay later?
We accept Shop Pay and PayPal Credit. Both offer interest free options, if paid in full within 6 months. For Shop Pay you will find a link on each product page to see if you qualify.

Can I cancel or change my order?
Cancelling or changing an order that has already been placed may involve additional fees. See our Returns & Cancellations policy page for more information.
How do I track my order?
For orders shipped to Zone 1, you will be notified via email when it ships and you can reach out to us for updates as needed. For orders shipped outside Zone 1, you will be provided with a tracking number when your order ships. It's been several weeks with no update, should I be concerned?
The process of crafting your pieces does take time, so it's not unusual for several weeks to go by without updates. There is no need to be concerned but please contact us if you wish to check in on your order status. We will certainly contact you if there are any unforeseen issues or delays with your order.
What if part of my order finishes before others?
Typically we will ship your order when every item is complete. If you would like to ship your order as pieces finish, additional shipping fees will apply. Please contact our sales team for more information about split deliveries.
My home is difficult to access or I am not always at home, will this be a problem?
If you have logistical challenges in accessing your home (narrow driveway, multiple flights of stairs, only available evenings, etc.) please notify our sales team as soon as possible. Additional delivery fees may apply.
I'm not ready to take receipt of my order, can you hold it?
We can store your order for up to 30 days at no charge, after that a nominal storage fee will apply. Please see our shipping page for more information.
The delivery team is here and I have an issue, what do I do?
Your furniture is well insured during transit. It is critical, however, for you to identify any potential shipping damage immediately upon delivery. Contact us while the delivery team is still in your home. We will assist you in real time to resolve any concerns. If your delivery occurs when our office is closed, photograph and document any issues on the shipper's paperwork so we can follow up with you. Please email your photos to info@vermontwoodsstudios.com asap.
How do I care for my furniture, like polishing or general care?
See our furniture care page for specifics on how to care for your pieces.
What is covered under your lifetime guarantee?
Please see our lifetime guarantee page.
What is NOT covered under your lifetime guarantee?
Issues not covered can include environmental damage such as humidity or dampness, damage incurred through improper movement, or the use of unsuitable cleaning products. See our lifetime guarantee page to learn more.
What if my furniture should break in the future
If you experience any failure of your furniture in the future, contact us to discuss resolutions. We will try to help you even if the breakage is not covered under our lifetime guarantee.
Can heat and humidity damage my furniture?
Exposure to extreme temperatures or temperature changes can affect the condition of your furniture. Wood is most likely to crack when the climate in a home suddenly changes from hot and humid to cool and dry. We do not cover this type of cracking in our lifetime guarantee.
Keep your home temperature regulated with air conditioners during hot months and humidifiers in dry conditions.
Avoid placing furniture in front of radiators, fireplaces or any other heating units.

How should I move my furniture?
Exercise caution when moving heavy pieces. Use at least two people to lift the furniture, one person at each end. Be sure to lift from the bottom of case pieces, and never slide tables, chairs, beds or dressers along the floor.
Sliding your furniture can damage your floor and the furniture legs. Beds should be disassembled before moving to prevent damage.
How much of the POLYWOOD plastic lumber is recycled?
Over ninety percent of this POLYWOOD product is made from post-consumer plastic bottle waste, such as milk and detergent bottles or other HDPE post industrial waste material.
Does POLYWOOD require assembly?
Some models unfold right out of the box with no assembly necessary, others require minor assembly. Those that require assembly typically take about 5 - 30 minutes to complete and include basic tools with simple instructions.
How do I clean POLYWOOD?
For regular maintenance, simply wash POLYWOOD products with soap and water. For more thorough cleaning or to remove fungi, use a solution of 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water. Fungi can also be removed using any readily available anti fungal product.
A high-pressure power washer may be used for regular maintenance to keep your furniture looking like new. Pressure should not exceed 1,500 psi, which is the equivalent of a car wash. The surface texture may require the use of a soft bristle brush to get into the creases.
