POLYWOOD: Why We Chose Recycled Plastic Outdoor Furniture

POLYWOOD: Why We Chose Recycled Plastic Outdoor Furniture

Classic & Modern Styles

POLYWOOD'S Quattro dining collection, a blend of classic Adirondack style and modern aesthetic. Dining sets shown in standard height and bar style.

Ten years ago customers began asking us to carry outdoor furniture. We looked at dozens of top quality brands. We knew you'd want great design & styling. POLYWOOD recycled plastic outdoor furniture certainly passed that test. But there are many more reasons we chose this beautiful, eco-friendly furniture. Here are a few:

Traditional & Vibrant Modern Colors

Customers asked for bold, bright color options. POLYWOOD is available in all your favorite traditional and contemporary colors, including blue, teak, tangerine, red, sand, mahogany, lime, lemon yellow, green, black, aruba blue, slate grey and white.

Quality & Durability

As wood furniture makers, we were looking for a real solid wood product. But while there are weather resistant species such as cedar, teak, and redwood that make fine outdoor furniture, we still worried about longevity and durability. POLYWOOD recycled plastic lumber (RPL) is a thick, dense plastic product that replicates high quality tropical lumber in dimension, weight and strength. These POLYWOOD Adirondack chairs are cut and assembled just like the wood versions with the only difference being the use of RPL, “recycled plastic lumber”. They last longer than teak or mahogany -- in fact so long we decided to provide our lifetime guarantee on POLYWOOD.

American Made & Eco Friendly

POLYWOOD is made in America (Syracuse, IN) so it's the only product we carry that's not made in Vermont. It's so exceptional though, we couldn't resist. POLYWOOD is made from recycled plastic bottles and for a mission driven company like us, that's important. It reduces the amount of plastic in landfills. POLYWOOD puts less demand on vulnerable tropical rainforests that are being clear cut to produce low quality teak & eucalyptus furniture.

No Maintenance & Lifetime Guarantee

POLYWOOD recycled plastic outdoor furniture requires no maintenance other than simply washing with water. It's basically impervious to harsh weather like rain, snow, ice, and salt water. Insects, mold and mildew are not a problem. POLYWOOD resists corrosive substances, oil and fuels, insects, salt water spray, and other environmental stresses. It contains no toxic preservatives like treated wood lumber does. It's the only outdoor furniture we could find that gave us the confidence to offer our lifetime guarantee. We are the only POLYWOOD dealer offering this level of buyer protection, in fact other retailers often add substantial charges for even limited warranties.

POLYWOOD has a luxurious side too. These outdoor patio deep seating chairs, sofas, settees, loveseats and ottomans have plush cushions and are super comfy, durable and low-maintenance. Cushions are by Sunbrella with a large selection of durable marine grade fabric cushions. Forest green, pacific blue, sunflower yellow and bravada salsa are just a few of the many fabric colors to choose from. They're weather resistant, quick drying & stain and fade resistant.

Dining, Bar & Counter Height Tables & Chairs

Most POLYWOOD dining sets come in your choice of standard height, counter height and bar height. What's the difference between dining, bar and counter seating? The seat height in a dining chair is typically 17"H. The seat height of the counter chair and stool is 24-25"H. In a bar chair or bar stool it's 29-30"H. The taller bar chair usually has an extra crossbar that can serve as a footrest.

Low Price Guarantee
