7 Asian-Inspired Furniture Collections

Asian Inspired Furniture Collections. Seen here, the Astrid Bedroom Set in natural cherry.
The term "Asian inspired furniture" isn't just reserved for black lacquered chests and painted tables. Asian design philosophies have influenced hardwood furniture around the world, and especially here in the United States.
This kind of Eastern design influence is evident in the use of vertical moon-shaped cuts and irregular joinery techniques, such as is seen in our Contemporary Craftsman and Exeter collections, respectively.

You'll even see the influence of Asian design in Mid-Century Modern furniture and collections that avoid right angles.
Check out some of our favorite Asian-inspired furniture collections below:

Cherry Moon Bed and Nightstands
The Cherry Moon collection has elements of Arts and Crafts, contemporary Asian, and modern American design philosophies yielding a light but grounded appearance. Rich black walnut, half-moon drawer pulls complement our solid cherry, maple, and walnut hardwood furnishings. Reverse-tapered legs, posts and an intricate cove under the tops round out the design to give any room of your home a comforting natural feeling of understated elegance.

Modern American Collection

Modern American Bedroom Set
Our high end Modern American Furniture is inspired by George Nakashima's designs. Nakashima was an American architect who practiced in the American Craftsman era. He spent time in Japan and India working with Antonin Raymond, the "father of Modern architecture in Japan." One of Raymond's most prolific architectural projects was in collaboration with Frank Lloyd Wright, who pioneered the "Modern American" design movement during his career in the first half of the 20th century.
