Mission Furniture 101: Everything You Need to Know
Mission style furniture is characterized by rectangular shapes, 90 degree angles, and straight vertical and horizontal lines. The style originated in the late 1800’s as a simpler, more practical alternative to the ornate Victorian-era styling of the time. Often confused with Shaker, mission style has its own history, its own following, and its own set of design principles.
