Our Heartwood Shaker Style 4-Drawer Lateral File Cabinet is handmade using premium hardwood and crafted to last a lifetime. This solid wood lateral filing cabinet has 4 high-capacity drawers (legal or standard size) and is a stylish and functional addition to your natural wood office furniture. Our Heartwood Shaker Office Furniture is handcrafted to order in Vermont in your choice of solid cherry, maple, or walnut woods with a natural, eco-friendly oil finish that not only protects, but enhances the natural beauty of the wood.

Note: This file cabinet holds both letter size and legal size documents. Standard letter size documents are configured front to back with two rows for filing per drawer. The rows do not move independently. Legal size documents are filed left to right with one row per drawer.
An aluminum bar and clips are included with all units to accept both legal and letter size files.

Overall: 61"W x 20"D x 31.75"H
Internal measurement of a lateral file drawer are 24.25” long (right to left), x 15 deep x 9.25” tall (inside drawer height is actually 10.5” to the very top, but the inside drawer box itself is 9.25” tall).
Construction Details
- Handcrafted in Vermont, USA, using real solid hardwoods
- Available in natural cherry, natural maple and natural walnut wood
- Cherry and Walnut woods are finished with a hand rubbed linseed oil and wax finish.
- Maple pieces are finished with a tung oil and wax, as the maple grain is more dense and it does not absorb linseed oil as well as the other woods. Little to no VOCs upon delivery.
- All Case Pieces except for blanket chests use premium hardwood plywood. Veneered backs and solid wood backs available. Contact us for details.
- The sides of these case pieces are crafted using solid wood.
- Drawer sides and backs are beech wood finished with a water-based acrylic
- Drawer bottoms are beech wood finished with a water-based acrylic
- Drawer joinery is constructed of dovetail
- High-end metal slides
- Drawer knobs are matching hardwood
- An aluminum bar and clips are included with all units to accept both legal and letter size files
