THE WROUGHT:

BUILT FROM THE WROUGHT IRON WHICH ONCE SUPPORTED A TRUSS BRIDGE IN WILDER VT, THE
ARCHED BASE WAS ONCE STRAIGHT, BUT HAS BEEN ROLLED TO ENHANCE THE ELEGANCE OF
THE PIECE. THE CONNECTING RODS, AND UPRIGHT POSTS ARE FROM SALVAGED STEEL, AND
HAVE BEEN HOT RIVETED TO ENSURE A SOLID CONNECTION AT ALL POINTS. THE SURFACE IS A
METICULOUS HEAT APPLIED WAX FINISH, THAT IS HAND RUBBED, TO PROVIDE LUSTER AND
BEAUTY.

 THE WOOD:

CONSTRUCTED OF SALVAGED LATTICE TIMBERS FROM THE “SCOTT” COVERED BRIDGE IN
TOWNSHEND VT., THE YEARS OF EXPOSURE TO THE ELEMENTS HAS LEFT ITS MARK ON THE OLD
GROWTH LUMBER. THE HOLES IN THE FACE OF THE TABLE ONCE TIGHTLY HELD LARGE OAK
PEGS; WHICH WERE DRIVEN IN BY CALLUSED HANDS AND SWEATY BROWS. MULTIPLE COATS OF
HAND-RUBBED TUNG OIL, AND A BUFFED WAX FINISH PROVIDE THIS TABLE WITH ITS’ SOFT AND
ELEGANT SURFACE.
