American Shaker design gives Copeland's Sarah Shaker style Cherry Sleigh Bed a clean look with elegant proportions. This luxury carriage style platform bed featuring a large, inclined headboard is handmade with solid natural cherry wood.
Available as a platform bed or for use with mattress and box springs. When ordered as a platform frame, headboard height will be 45": as a mattress/box spring frame, headboard will be six inches taller at 51".
Customize online in your choice of either natural cherry (no stain) or windsor cherry, autumn cherry, cognac cherry, saddle cherry or smoke cherry. Our luxury Shaker-style Sarah Bedroom Furniture Collection is handmade in Vermont using eco-friendly, sustainably harvested natural cherry wood. This bed utilizes center support legs for additional mattress support (support legs may not be shown in product image)

>Bed Rails
Bed side rails are solid hardwood. All Copeland Furniture bed rails are fastened with a simple to use but extremely durable system designed keep the joint firm and rigid for the life of the product. Here's how it works:
- A headless, threaded machine bolt is screwed into the headboard. Wooden dowel pegs align the bed rail with the headboard or footboard. This forces the bed rail into proper orientation and prevents any future twisting.
- The parts are then joined together with a special contoured washer and hex nut using the supplied open-end wrench.
>Bed Slats and Platforms
Sarah beds utilize three center support legs for additional mattress support.
Mattress support comes in one of the following forms depending on the wood selected:
A T-Slat is a 3" plywood slat reinforced by a solid hardwood spine. Viewed from the side, the parts form the shape of a T, hence the name. T-Slats always come in packages of three and are standard on beds requiring box spring and mattress.
Platform Kits are similar to T-Slats in that they consist of a 5 layer baltic birch horizontal element reinforced by a solid wood spine. However they differ in that they are much wider and are intended to provide the direct support for the mattress. They come in sets of six platforms and are standard on all Cherry beds intended for mattress alone.

At Vermont Woods Studios, each piece of fine furniture is carefully handcrafted and made to order right here in Vermont. The current lead time for production is approximately 8-14 weeks.
Once complete, your furniture is blanket-wrapped and shipped by our white glove delivery partners. The transit time from our craftsmen to you depends on accessibility to your area. In some cases, for example with small coffee tables, we use standard shipping via Fed Ex or similar carrier. Shipping and delivery details.

If you live in a location that is outside of our regularly serviced area, please add one to two weeks to your transit time.
We provide wood samples for $6 each. You may keep them or return them for store credit.
