Vernon’s Giving Tree

The Giving Tree | Vernon, Vermont
Vermont Woods Studios is located in the tiny village of Vernon, Vermont (population 2141). Every December local volunteers set up a Giving Tree at the Town Hall.

Each angel on the tree is like a letter to Santa. Vernon residents pick an angel and get to work. They become honorary Santa’s elves collecting toys, clothes & books. Soon the Town Hall is filled with gifts for everyone in need.

The Giving Tree has become an annual tradition at Vermont Woods Studios. We shop and wrap for several little ones as well as a couple residents at our local senior living facility & nursing home. It’s important to us to be part of our community.
Christmas & Holiday Gifts in the Back of my Prius
Every year we fill up my Prius with gifts and deliver them to the Vernon Town Hall. It does our hearts good. Does your community have a Holiday Tree? If not, how about starting one?

Peggy Farabaugh

She is a CEO who brakes for salamanders, has bottle-fed rescued squirrels and spent her vacation building furniture for a rural school in Costa Rica. She believes in the future and in the people who will build it. A former distance-learning professor at Tulane University with a master’s in environmental health & safety, she turned an interest in forest conservation and endangered species into a growing, local business. She delivers rainforest statistics at breakneck speed, but knows how to slow down and appreciate the beauty of a newly finished piece of heirloom furniture.
