A BIG thank you for your support of our Vermont furniture business this year. 2017 had it’s highs & lows but together with you we accomplished a lot of great things at Vermont Woods Studios. Here are a few:
Architectural Digest, Boston Home, Dwell & Martha Stewart Featured Us
As wood furniture makers, we have a deep commitment to forest conservation. Our wood is harvested locally and sustainably. We plant 2 trees for every order in an effort to restore forests where our competitors still remove trees illegally. The trees above are being planted by our partners at Forests for Monarchs, a non-profit that’s restoring the Monarch butterfly’s winter forest habitat in Mexico. Our founder, Peggy Farabaugh volunteers her time to serve as vice president of FFM.

We Grew Our Vermont Furniture Business by Over 20%
This is a customer photo submitted by Scott A of Massachusetts. We put more Vermont made furniture in homes this year than ever before. See what our customers are saying about that.
We Provided Environmental Education for Kids
We shared our passion for forest & wildlife conservation with summer campers in Hinesburg, VT. They studied the monarch butterfly with us and learned about it’s amazing migration from Vermont to the forests of Central Mexico.
The same Monarchs we’re planting trees for in Mexico need a habitat of milkweed up here in Vermont (where they spend their summer). We’re planting milkweed outside our showroom and supporting efforts to restore monarch habitat throughout Vermont.
We Adopted Families at Christmas & Made Donations to Local Non-Profits
Your support of this Vermont furniture business enabled us to donate furniture, home decor and cash to organizations including the Windham County Humane Society, the River Valley Art School, Families First, Project Feed, Groundworks Collaborative, The Nature Conservancy’s “Plant a Billion Trees Project”, Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center (BEEC), the American Forest Foundation, the Northeast Wilderness Trust, Vermont Coverts, Woodlands for Wildlife, Rainforest Alliance, Rainforest Foundation, Rainforest Partnership, Vermont Center for EcoStudies, the Vernon Preschool and the Vermont Woodlands Association.
Every year we join other nature nuts in Vermont on Green Up Day, the first Saturday in May to clean up the roadsides and public spaces in our town. You’d be surprised at the junk we find!
We Delivered Almost 1000 Meals on Wheels to Local Seniors
As our customers, team members, craftspeople and colleagues, you made our progress and good works possible. We love giving back to our community and supporting conservation efforts. We love telling the world about the fantastic, beautiful and high quality furniture that’s coming our of Vermont– the place we call the Fine Furniture Capital of America.
Honestly, though we do spend most of our time working with customers and are eagerly awaiting your phone call. We can’t wait to help you fill your home with the classic handmade furniture you’ve always dreamed of.

She believes in the future and in the people who will build it. A former distance-learning professor at Tulane University with a master’s in environmental health & safety, she turned an interest in forest conservation and endangered species into a growing, local business. She delivers rainforest statistics at breakneck speed, but knows how to slow down and appreciate the beauty of a newly finished piece of heirloom furniture.
