Vermont Woods Studios Valentine’s Day Guide to Keeping Your Spouse Happy

valentine's-day Happy Valentine's Day! We hope you have someone who looks as longing at you as my dog son, Charlie, looks at this cake pop (don't worry, I treated him to a few baby carrots for being such a good model).

Some may say the day doesn’t matter, but better to be safe than sorry!

Valentine’s Day may seem to most as a day Hallmark and floral shops depend on for their yearly survival. But, even if you don’t have that “special someone” to spend the day with, the idea of looking introspectively at who you consider a loved one and what you want out of those closest to you is a nice alternative way to commemorate the day.

No matter how you plan to spend the day, we’ve come up with a list of gift ideas, because it’s never too late.

Bedroom Set

Nothing says love, like a new bedroom set. Treat your spouse (or yourself!) to new bedroom furniture. Surprise them or choose it together, because sometimes surprises aren’t really gifts.

Wine Glasses

valentine's-day
Handblown here in Vermont, a set of Simon Pearce wine glasses, paired with a nice wine, is the perfect gift for the sommelier in your life. Each piece of glass is handmade by one individual and is truly unique.

Dining Set With (or without) A Statement Chandelier

valentine's-day Our Single-Leg Round Pedestal Dining Set and Hubbardton Forge Trellis Chandelier
Hand-forged here in Vermont, a Hubbardton Forge chandelier and new dining set is the perfect way to show someone how much you care. It’s not about the price, but the precious moments you’ll have at that table and under that radiant lighting that will last a lifetime.

New Bed Linens

valentine's-day
Handsewn here in Vermont, Anichini linens are an indulgent but worth it gift. The eye popping beauty of the rich colors and patterns used are only matched by the quality and comfort of this bedding. These linens will make you and your loved one feel like royalty.
And, let’s not forget that chocolate and flowers or a nice dinner and wine are always appreciated gifts. Spoil that special someone or just treat yourself. Any one of these gifts can be enjoyed by one or more.
I’m a fan of grand gestures, but know what makes the person in your life happiest and go from there. And just a word of advice. Call your floral shop now, if you haven’t already, they very well could run out of flowers or stop taking orders before you get out of work today. And, if you stop at a grocery store floral kiosk or center, take the flowers out of the prepackaged plastic.
Let me know if you have any fun and appropriate Valentine’s Day traditions or hilarious stories in the comments section below.
