It may be time for a yard sale if your living room furniture hasn't been updated since 1995.

Over the years it’s easy to amass furniture from many different places. Yard sales, inherited heirlooms, estate sales and children have all been the cause of mismatched furniture pieces in homes across America. Even if you have matching living room furniture, chances are it’s been in your home for a decade or two.

I’ve noticed since working in the furniture industry that living room accent furniture is often overlooked. It’s not surprising really, when you have dining tables, beds, couches and even patio furniture to consider that accent furniture would be overshadowed.
And don’t get me wrong, I’m a pretty big fan of mismatched furniture. Maybe the idyllic thought of it is a product of my millennial mentality but I also see the advantage of having matching accent furniture. That’s not to say you shouldn’t or can’t have a unique statement piece, but like all things, the design of your living room should be cohesive.
Matching accent furniture is like the color that binds your blouse and sweater or the piece of jewelry that makes an outfit. It helps tie everything together.

With that said, here are 5 living room accent furniture collections to match your personality.
