Construction Details

You’ll find extensive detail about everything from wood selection to joinery to finish on each page of our contemporary craftsman dining products.  Wood choices are North American cherry, maple and walnut.  Sides of buffets and hunt boards are crafted using solid wood panels in solid wood frames. Cherry and Walnut woods are finished with a hand rubbed linseed oil and wax finish. Maple pieces are finished with a tung oil, as the maple grain is more dense and it does not absorb linseed oil as well as the other woods. Drawers are made with dovetail joinery and high end metal slides. Doors feature solid wood floating panels, mortise and tenon joinery on the stiles and rails and classic recessed hinges with antique bronze finish.
