The Hands That Hold the Future

Students made seed balls out of potting soil, clay and water.  We put milkweed and flower seeds in each ball and rolled them into sunny meadows where they’ll grow to produce habitat & food for monarchs next year.

Vermont Woods Studios is Proud to Support VPR
Silviculturalist Jose Luis Alvarez and I were interviewed by Nina Keck at VPR last Fall. The Vermont Edition show offered us a chance to share our passion for conserving monarch butterfly habitat in Vermont and Mexico.

VPR Underwriter

  • “I know… I heard about that on All Things Considered last night”
  • “Are you going to the Vermont Brewers Festival this year?” “When is it?” “Not sure… check VPR’s website”
  • “What’s the forecast this weekend?” “I just heard Mark Breen say it’s going to be gorgeous”

Last updated on August 14th, 2018 at 01:45 pm

Certified Wildlife hatitat
The National Wildlife Federation has recognized us in their ‘Garden for Wildlife’ program. Our Stonehurst showroom is on 109 acres of sustainably managed woodlands and meadows which NWF has designated as a Certified Wildlife Habitat®.

Dear Customers, Thank You!

The National Wildlife Federation is America’s largest wildlife conservation and education organization. We’re excited to support their work by creating a Certified Wildlife Habitat® as part of their ‘Garden for Wildlife’ program.  This achievement is only possible because of the strong support we receive from our wonderful customers and stakeholders.

Fellow Nature Nuts: you can do the same at your home or business!  If you have a garden that improves habitat for birds, butterflies, frogs and other wildlife, join the club and get it certified. It’s all about providing your neighborhood wildlife with natural food sources, clean water, cover and places to raise young.

The Fun Stuff

From saving Monarch Butterflies to baking bread for the local food-shelf, we do a lot more than just sell wood furniture. At Vermont Woods Studios we’re on a mission to change the world. Our accomplishments may be on a smaller scale than some but they have deep meaning to us and to our customers.  Not to mention, it’s the most fun part of our work!

Vernon Giving Tree 2016

Last updated on August 3rd, 2018 at 10:54 am

It’s that time of year again! The Vermont Woods Studios team went full-throttle this year, choosing seven children and elders in the community to help bring holiday cheer. Again this year, the team both donated and purchased new items, wrapped them and delivered them to the Vernon Town Hall, one chilly December morning.

Bread Baking For Brattleboro Drop-In Center

Last updated on August 3rd, 2018 at 10:57 am

This year we participated in King Arthur Flour’s Bake For Good. Every year, King Arthur sponsors a month long campaign that’s goal is to raise awareness of hunger. We pledged to bake bread for our local foodshelf, the Brattleboro Drop-In Center. By the end of the day we had five loaves to donate to the shelter and hope that next year we can do even more!
