So how does one go about buying high end American furniture online? What should you expect? At Vermont Woods Studios we do everything we can to make this experience easy, pleasurable and worry-free. We showcase hundreds of pieces of fine Vermont made furniture and you will find them organized by room or by collection.

Each piece of our high end American furniture is hand made to order right here in Vermont, in accordance with our customers’ specifications. Once we finalize the details of your order we then work with the furniture craftsmen to get your order scheduled into their queue. The lead-time from day of order to day of delivery is usually between 4 and 12 weeks, and most customers receive their orders in 6 weeks or less.
The process for ordering our most high end, ultra luxury, unique custom artisan furniture is very different than it is for selecting or customizing our existing designs. In this case you will be working very closely with the artisan, particularly during the design phase of your project. We encourage you to send photos, sketches, drawings or models at the beginning of your project in order to help convey your vision. Our customer service representatives will work with you to learn all the details of your furniture plans and find the artisan best suited for your project. A $350 minimum deposit is required to initiate custom furniture projects and this amount will be deducted from the final cost of your furniture commission. The deposit is a down payment to our artisan for his or her time in consulting with you and creating designs, sketches and renderings in an effort to bring your vision into reality. The deposit is non-refundable. Major projects that require greater time to conceive may require a larger deposit.
Once you have agreed upon a design for your project, a 50% deposit is required to initiate the crafting phase of your furniture commission. The remaining balance along with shipping costs will be due upon completion of work. Upon order placement, we will provide you with written confirmation of the commission, including a description of the furniture, the name of the artisan, the price and the estimated delivery date. Typically custom artisan commissions take between 4-14 weeks, depending on the artisan selected, his or her backlog, the availability of materials and the complexity of the design. As the completion date and shipping dates comes close we will contact you to arrange for a convenient delivery time. Our Free White Glove shipping service ensures a smooth delivery from our craftsmen to your home and the room where your fine furniture will be placed. More then a moving crew, our experienced furniture handlers will assemble and adjust your furniture as well as remove any packaging materials.

If you are not 100% satisfied with your furniture, we pledge to do whatever is necessary to make things right for you. In the rare event that there has been damage to your fine furniture during shipping, we will work with you while the shipper is at your home to determine the best course of action. If there is a small scratch on your furniture that the delivery crew is unable to repair immediately, we will send a professional furniture medic to your home to repair it asap. If the damage is substantial we may ask you to refuse delivery of the furniture and we will build new furniture for you. Either way you will be involved in the process and you will make the decision as to how you want to proceed with the solution that is best for you.
