Gustav Stickley, one of the most prominent American furniture designers of the last 200 years, was the first to note that the dining table is the "heart of the home." Essentials Dining Tables
Our Essentials collection is one of our most affordable and eco friendly collections available. Designed and manufactured by Copeland Furniture in Bradford, Vermont, the Essentials collection utilizes up-cycled wood that would otherwise be scrapped (usually burned for heat in the winter). The Copeland team has been able to collect all the small pieces of wood that get discarded during the manufacturing process and meld them together using an advanced joinery technique called finger-jointing.
Using this technique, Copeland is able to minimize waste and up-cycle their scraps of cherry and walnut wood. Because this wood has traditionally been discarded, the company doesn't really incur any material costs in building this furniture (other than labor and machinery costs). This makes the Essentials collection (as well as the Linn bedroom collection and Modern Farmhouse collection) one of the most affordable collections of furniture on our site.
Products in these collections are also part of the Copeland Quick Ship program (they ship within 1-3 weeks). Essentials dining tables come in round and rectangular designs in your choice of cherry or walnut wood. You can also customize the table legs, using the metal hairpin legs shown above or solid wood legs.
Catalina Dining Table
The Catalina collection by Copeland Furniture was inspired by the designs of the mid-1900's and is decidedly reflective of mid-century modern design. The base price on this table reflects the the smallest dimensions, a square 40" x 40" design with rounded boat-shaped edges. This design, suited for four chairs, is perfect for small spaces- a breakfast nook or apartment kitchen. It's shown here in natural cherry, but is also available in walnut. If you're looking for something larger, this table is also available with a length of 60" or 78".

Sarah Shaker Dining Table
Our Sarah Shaker Dining Table, also manufactured by Copeland, features the minimalist design philosophy so common in shaker style furniture, but also brings a contemporary twist with rounded table legs. The base price represents a 36" x 36" square table, but the table is available in a variety of widths and lengths.
