Peggy, you and your employees should be very proud; it was you folks that spread the word on spending our dollars locally and purchasing American-made products. News is news, unfortunately, and what is important in our small community sometimes just doesn't resonate to a big-city news team.
Wanted to let you know that 90% of my holiday dollars went to purchase locally, hand-made items. Angora, hand-knit socks, tote bags made with recycled burlap from Dean's Beans coffee company, hand painted silk scarves, fingerless gloves made from recycled cashmere sweaters, goat's milk soaps, hand-crafted earrings, cosmetic bags made from non-recyclable plastic bags, gift certificates to Mocha Joe's, handmade wooden toys. Folks tend to think that hand-made local products are more costly, but that is not the case. These artists are able to make a living with their craft. Merry Christmas Vermont Woods Studios - you are super!
